Baseball Recap: Bald Eagle Area Takes a Loss

Bald Eagle Area was the 8-3 winner over Westmont Hilltop when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell just short of the Hilltoppers by a score of 5-4 on Friday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wyatt Spackman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Luke Hosband, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Bald Eagle Area's record now sits at 4-11. As for Westmont Hilltop, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bald Eagle Area will head out to take on Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Dragons will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Westmont Hilltop, they will face off against Bellwood-Antis at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Blue Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.14 runs per game on average), something the Hilltoppers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
