Basketball Recap: Freeport Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Greely

Freeport hadn't done well against Greely recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Freeport Falcons snuck past the Greely Rangers with a 38-32 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Falcons' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Rangers are ranked 32nd).

Freeport's victory bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Greely, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.

Freeport will square off against Falmouth at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Falmouth's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches. Greely has already played their next game (against Schenck), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
