Baseball Recap: Carteret Comes Up Short on the Road Against J.P. Stevens

Carteret had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the J.P. Stevens Hawks by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Ramblers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hawks from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Eric Thompson and Lucas Rivera did some serious damage despite the final result: Thompson scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-3, while Rivera went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave Thompson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jared Nelan, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

While Carteret had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
