Baseball Recap: Castro Valley Now 10-2 over Last 12 Games

Castro Valley posted their closest victory since March 25th on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Encinal Jets 6-4. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Jets, too.

The team relied heavily on Gilbert Seidel, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Mares, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Castro Valley is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Encinal, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.

Castro Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Jets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
