Recap: Central Red Devils vs. Dexter Tigers
The Central Red Devils pushed their score all the way to 59 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 67-59 defeat to Dexter. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Central in their matchups with Dexter: they've now lost four in a row.
Dexter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Will Spratt out in front who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Spratt set a new season high mark in steals with three. Another player making a difference was Kellen Peavey, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds.
Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Dexter, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
Central will head out on the road to face off against Sumner at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dexter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against George Stevens Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
