Softball Recap: Providence Hall Extends Winning Streak to Four

It's playoff time, and Providence Hall had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Manti Templars by a score of 7-2 on Saturday. The victory was nothing new for the Patriots as they're now sitting on four straight.

Nena Garcia made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off 11 hits. Garcia was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mariah Garcia, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Madelyn Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run.

Providence Hall hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Providence Hall pushed their record up to 15-8 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Manti, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-19 record this season.

As of now, neither Providence Hall nor Manti have any future games scheduled.
