Football Recap: Pilgrim Patriots vs. Mt. Hope Huskies
Pilgrim lost against Mt. Hope back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Patriots had to suffer through a 42-7 loss at the hands of the Huskies. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-0.
Mt. Hope got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyler Rhynard out in front who rushed for 115 yards and one TD on only nine carries. Will Francis was in the mix as well, providing the Huskies with two touchdowns.
Pilgrim is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4. As for Mt. Hope, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.
Coming up, Pilgrim will look to defend their home field on Friday against East Greenwich at 6:30 p.m. The Avengers' defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so the Patriots' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Mt. Hope, they will face off against Chariho at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Huskies 13, the Chargers 12) so any points scored will be well earned.
