Soccer Game Preview: San Juan vs. Esparto

San Juan hasn't had much luck against Esparto recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The San Juan Spartans will be playing at home against the Esparto Spartans at 6:00 p.m. San Juan's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

San Juan is headed into Tuesday's following a draw, the team's first since December 17. Neither they nor Golden Sierra could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, Esparto got the win against Vacaville Christian on Thursday by a conclusive 7-1. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won five contests by five goals or more so far this season.

Esparto's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those five games. San Juan's draw gives them a new season record of 3-6-2.
