Volleyball Recap: Wheeling Comes Up Short

Wheeling was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Niles North Vikings. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Wheeling's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Niles North, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Looking ahead, Wheeling will square off against Elk Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Niles North, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Hoffman Estates on the 19th.
