Baseball Game Preview: Rolling Meadows Mustangs vs. Round Lake Panthers

The Rolling Meadows Mustangs will take on the Round Lake Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Rolling Meadows has three straight victories, Round Lake has 17 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Friday, Rolling Meadows made easy work of Elmwood Park and carried off a 7-1 win.

Aiden Gallucci looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Callum Paisley was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Schneider, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Rolling Meadows kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Round Lake had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against Zion-Benton, falling 13-0.

Round Lake saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christopher Amaral, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. That's the most hits Amaral has posted since back in April of 2024.

Rolling Meadows' victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Round Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Rolling Meadows took their win against Round Lake in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 15-7. Will Rolling Meadows repeat their success, or does Round Lake has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
