Game recap: Vacaville High School Football Team tops Rodriguez

Vacaville (Calif.) and Rodriguez (Fairfield, Calif.) couldn't stop each other, but eventually Vacaville (Calif.) came away with the 70-31 victory.

The Bulldogs scored 21 points in the first quarter on a passing touchdown and two rushing touchdowns.

Vacaville was up 42-17 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by Curtis Goins in the first quarter.

VHS expanded its lead to 32 points entering the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs scored three times in the third, including once on a Goins touchdown run.

Goins stood out for Vacaville in the win. The senior halfback ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored 13 touchdowns on the season.



VHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 61-27.

With the win the Bulldogs extended their winning streak to four games.

In a Monticello Empire game next week Vacaville (6-3) takes on Wood, and Rodriguez (2-7) will go up against Armijo also in a Monticello Empire game.
