Baseball Game Preview: Pleasant Spartans vs. Upper Sandusky Rams

The Pleasant Spartans will square off against the Upper Sandusky Rams at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pleasant has given up an average of 9.1 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Pleasant is headed into Saturday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Wednesday. They came up short against Ontario, falling 20-0.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Upper Sandusky). Everything went their way against Seneca East on Wednesday as they made off with a 16-5 win. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Kasen Gottfried, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Josh Heilman, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Upper Sandusky was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in eight consecutive contests.

Upper Sandusky's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Pleasant, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
