Recap: Lafayette Rams vs. Franklin Broncos
On Friday, Lafayette was able to grind out a solid victory over Franklin, taking the game 65-54. The win made it back-to-back wins for Lafayette.
Lafayette's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jarquez Garrett led the charge by scoring 14 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. The matchup was Garrett's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Asa Fehrenbach, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds.
Lafayette pushed their record up to 5-1 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.
Lafayette won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Phoebus at 2:00 p.m. on December 23rd. Phoebus will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 271st, while Lafayette is ranked 40th). Franklin will finish 2023 at home by hosting Windsor at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Windsor comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
