Baseball Recap: Century Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

Century won the last time they faced John Marshall and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Panthers came out on top against the Rockets by a score of 8-4.

Century saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Kelly, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Kelly is becoming a predictor of the Panthers' success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Mike Ruff also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Century has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for John Marshall, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-10.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Century will take on rival Mayo at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, John Marshall is set to challenge their familiar foe Faribault at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
