Basketball Recap: Harding Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Harding entered their contest against Boardman on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Harding Raiders fell just short of the Boardman Spartans by a score of 37-35. The match marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Harding lost, don't look at Akeelha Barnes. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds. Barnes is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nadia McQueen, who posted five points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Harding smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in 14 consecutive contests.

Harding's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4. As for Boardman, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season.
