Soccer Game Preview: Westminster School at Oak Mountain vs. Calera

Westminster School at Oak Mountain is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Calera is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Knights will welcome the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Calera better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Westminster School at Oak Mountain's game on Saturday is any indication, that's when Westminster School at Oak Mountain really gets things going. The Knights never let American Christian Academy get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. The high-scoring effort was just what Westminster School at Oak Mountain needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Calera and Chilton County had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Eagles put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 6-1 victory on Friday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 5-0.

Calera's offense was hitting Chilton County from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal.

Westminster School at Oak Mountain has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-5-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those seven matches. As for Calera, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3-1.
