Football Recap: Nikiski Comes Up Short

Nikiski extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were beaten by the Seward Seahawks 70-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Seahawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-12 back in August.

As for Seward, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The result was nothing new for the Seahawks, who have now won five contests by 34 points or more so far this season.

Seward's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ridge Conant led the charge by rushing for 36 yards and two scores. Quinn Humbert also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Nikiski will take on rival SWDP Private School at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Seward is set to challenge their familiar foe Monroe Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
