Basketball Recap: Prairie View Comes Up Short

Prairie View lost against Boulder back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Prairie View Thunderhawks took a blow against the Boulder Panthers, falling 62-11. While losing is never fun, the Thunderhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while the Panthers are ranked 105th).

Jasmine Crespin Herrera was Prairie View's leading scorer, having posted four points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Boulder to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lexi Oder, who went 7 of 13 en route to 16 points and seven steals. The contest was Oder's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Matthews, who went 8 for 14 on her way to 17 points.

Prairie View dropped their record down to 1-16 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Boulder, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Prairie View has already played their next game (against Westminster), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Boulder will venture away from home to square off against Brighton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Boulder is facing Brighton at the right time seeing as Brighton is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
