Basketball Game Preview: Perry Bluejays vs. Prairie City-Monroe Mustangs

Perry is 1-6 against Prairie City-Monroe since December of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Perry Bluejays will head out to take on the Prairie City-Monroe Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Perry knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Prairie City-Monroe likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Perry came up short against West Marshall and fell 68-56.

Despite their defeat, Perry saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Geren Kenney, who went 9 of 17 on his way to 21 points along with six assists and six rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Kenney has been hot, having also posted three or more steals the last six times he's played. Owen Myers was another key player, going 6 for 11 en route to 14 points in addition to six assists and six boards.

Meanwhile, Prairie City-Monroe had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 65-58 victory over the Eagles.

Perry's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Prairie City-Monroe, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Perry lost to Prairie City-Monroe on the road by a decisive 73-58 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Perry avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
