Gilman came out on top against Columbus Catholic on Thursday thanks in part to Connor Nichols's efforts. Nichols got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs. The effort marked the most runs he has had since back in April.

Nichols and Gilman will face off against Neillsville/Granton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Nichols had to take a defeat the last time the two teams duked it out, losing their matchup back in May of 2024 25-4.
