Biloxi put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They managed a 40-36 win over the Gulfport Admirals. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while the Admirals are ranked 85th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Biloxi got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayla Carriere out in front who posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaniya Johnson, who put up ten points and three steals.

Biloxi's win was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-0. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.2 points per game. As for Gulfport, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Biloxi won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Booker T. Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Gulfport, they will be playing at home against St. Martin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
