West Valley took a 14-run defeat the last time they faced off against Temescal Canyon, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mustangs narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Titans 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since March 17th.

The team relied heavily on Caleb Trujillo, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.

West Valley's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-7. As for Temescal Canyon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season.

West Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against Temescal Canyon: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
