Basketball Game Preview: Penn Wood Patriots vs. Chester Clippers

Penn Wood is 2-8 against Chester since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Penn Wood Patriots will take on the Chester Clippers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Penn Wood slipped by Chichester 53-52. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chester). They breezed by Academy Park to the tune of 90-58 on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Clippers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Chester's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for Penn Wood, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Penn Wood suffered a grim 60-39 defeat to Chester in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Penn Wood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
