It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Riverside ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Boardman Spartans 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Beavers as they're now sitting on 16 straight.

Riverside's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Boardman, they moved to 15-3 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

Coming up, Riverside is taking a road trip to square off against South at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Boardman, they will welcome Walsh Jesuit at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 2.2, the Warriors 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
