Baseball Recap: Cory-Rawson Comes Up Short

Cory-Rawson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 9-0 to the Botkins Trojans. The Fighting Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Cory-Rawson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Botkins, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-8.

Looking ahead, Cory-Rawson will look to defend their home field on Friday against Riverdale at 5:00 p.m. The Fighting Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Botkins, they will head out to face off against Jackson Center at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games the Tigers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
