Preview: Milton Eagles vs. South Forsyth War Eagles

Milton is 2-8 against South Forsyth since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Milton Eagles' road trip will continue as they head out to face the South Forsyth War Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on February 13th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.

Milton put the finishing touches on their 18th blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 82-60 margin over Mount Pisgah Christian. Given Milton's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Mount Pisgah Christian is ranked 139th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Milton relied on the efforts of Londyn Walker, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 assists, and Nya Smith, who shot 4-for-8 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double on 32 points and nine rebounds. Smith is crushing the point category: she's posted at least 16 every time she's taken the court this season. Caroline Young was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, South Forsyth made easy work of Denmark on Saturday and carried off a 59-36 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for South Forsyth.

Milton pushed their record up to 22-2 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points per game. As for South Forsyth, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-13 record this season.

Milton beat South Forsyth 53-42 in their previous matchup last Friday. The rematch might be a little tougher for Milton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
