Softball Recap: Truckee Takes a Loss

Truckee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Shasta Wolves, falling 12-1.

Truckee saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellyse Hutchins, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Hutchins has snagged this season.

Truckee's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Shasta, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season.

Truckee will challenge Colusa at 2:40 p.m. on Saturday. The RedHawks' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Wolverines' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Shasta, they will square off against Fernley at 2:40 p.m. on Saturday.
