Football Recap: Helix Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Helix had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-7 to make it seven. They lost 40-14 to the Granite Hills Eagles. If the Highlanders were looking for revenge after losing 35-21 to the Eagles when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Although Helix took the loss, they still got scores from Jacob Andrew-Johnson and Jordan Lindley.

As for Granite Hills, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3. Given their advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Helix is ranked 214th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Zachary Benitez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 287 yards and four touchdowns. Zhedan Smith was Benitez's top target, picking up 67 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
