Football Game Preview: St. Bonaventure Seraphs vs. Bishop Diego Cardinals + Official Tickets

The St. Bonaventure Seraphs will take on the Bishop Diego Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Bonaventure's defense has only allowed 14.4 points per game this season, so Bishop Diego's offense will have their work cut out for them.

St. Bonaventure took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Oaks Christian a 19-0 shutout. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The critical scores for St. Bonaventure came from Jason Homan and Jayce Franco.

St. Bonaventure didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tony Dargan and Homan. Homan got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Bishop Diego was able to grind out a solid win over Simi Valley on Friday, taking the game 24-12.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Bishop Diego, racking up 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Remi Boykin, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Bishop Diego's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.0 points on average over those games. As for St. Bonaventure, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

St. Bonaventure strolled past Bishop Diego when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 21-6. Do the Seraphs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
