League recap: Live Oak Classical extends winning streak with victory over Methodist Children's Home

TCAL Division I - District 2 (6 Man) recap Oct. 16, 2012

Live Oak Classical extended the longest winning streak in TCAL Division I - District 2 (6 Man) this week by beating Methodist Children's Home, 49-45. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.

Live Oak Classical and the Bulldogs played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Live Oak Classical eventually emerging with a 49-45 victory. Paul McCaw threw for 315 yards and three touchdowns and caught one passes for two yards in the win.

Dalton Sparks was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 10 carries, he ran for 162 yards as Methodist Children's Home topped Methodist Children's Home. Teammate Tyrone Smith added to the ground attack by rushing for 48 yards.

Samuel Still made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Falcons beat Matt Rodgers' team. The 6-foot-1 junior grabbed two interceptions.

Nathan was the best wideout in TCAL Division I - District 2 (6 Man) this week as Live Oak Classical bested the Bulldogs. Nathan tallied three receptions for 154 yards. Ridley Holmes helped Live Oak Classical's passing attack out by catching one ball for 70 yards.

The Falcons' McCaw and Still have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. McCaw has thrown for 1677 yards this season, while Still, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 23 catches for 558 yards. Methodist Children's Home's Smith leads the league in rushing yards with 787.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Bulldogs take on Allen Academy. At the moment, Methodist Children's Home is in third, while the Rams are in second.

There should be lots of points scored when the Bulldogs and Allen Academy face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Methodist Children's Home comes in having scored 383 this season, while Jason Jolly's team has scored 375. The Bulldogs scored 45 points last week as they fell to Live Oak Classical.
