Soccer Game Preview: River Bluff vs. West Ashley

River Bluff is a perfect 3-0 against West Ashley since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Gators will venture away from home to take on the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

River Bluff is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Stratford a 4-0 shutout. Considering River Bluff have won nine contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Stratford with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Anna Allen (2), Brooke Walter, and Bela Charriez.

Meanwhile, West Ashley entered their tilt with Stall two weeks ago with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 10-0 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering West Ashley's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Stall are ranked 124th).

West Ashley's victory bumped their record up to 16-4-1. As for River Bluff, their win bumped their record up to 12-4-3.

River Bluff got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March against West Ashley by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gators since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
