The Cambridge City Lincoln Golden Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Daleville Broncos at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cambridge City Lincoln will be strutting in after a win while Daleville will be coming in after a loss.
Last Monday, Cambridge City Lincoln got the win against Randolph Southern by a conclusive 21-1. The Golden Eagles have beaten the Rebels the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Rebels has come to flipping the script.
Lexi McPheeters was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, Cambridge City Lincoln got a massive performance out of Addyson Pitcock, who went 4-for-5 with two triples, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave Pitcock a new career-high. Allison Clayton was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Meanwhile, Daleville fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Wes-Del on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 5-4.
Like Cambridge City Lincoln, Daleville also got a great game from a two-way player: Emily Simmons. On the mound, she pitched 8.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits. Simmons was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Valyn Pattengale made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Daleville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Cambridge City Lincoln, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Cambridge City Lincoln skirted past Daleville 2-1 when the teams last played back in May of 2019. Will the Golden Eagles repeat their success, or do the Broncos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
