Game recap: Orange Glen High School Football Team wins against Valley Center

ESCONDIDO, Calif. - Even though Orange Glen (Escondido, Calif.) couldn't stop Valley Center (Calif.), it did manage to squeak out the 42-38 victory.

After trailing 28-7 at the half, the Jaguars went ahead on a Austin Early touchdown pass to Abdel Elbakkali with less than a minute remaining in the fourth.

Orange Glen saw its 21-point halftime lead fall to 11 entering the fourth.

OG didn't take the lead for good until the the fourth quarter when Early thew a touchdown to Elbakkali.

The Escondido school's most effective player was Roger Rickman. The freshman running back ran for two touchdowns and caught one touchdown.



Austin Bernard made a difference for Valley Center. The junior running back ran for three touchdowns.

The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which VC took, 35-7.

The win was a nice bounce back for the Patriots, which lost to Del Norte last week, 25-20.
