Sulphur Springs had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They walked away with a 41-32 victory over the Pleasant Grove Hawks. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while the Hawks are ranked 463rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sulphur Springs pushed their record up to 23-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Pleasant Grove, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Sulphur Springs Wildcats duke it out with the North Lamar Panthers at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Pleasant Grove, they will square off against Paris at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
