Football Recap: Strake Jesuit Piles Up the Points Against Wisdom

Strake Jesuit was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Wisdom on Friday. The Fighting Crusaders claimed a resounding 48-9 victory over the Generals. Given the Fighting Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 314th, while the Generals are ranked 1022nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Grayson Ochoa and John Hebert. Ochoa rushed for 200 yards and four scores on only 12 carries while Hebert rushed for 197 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries. Ochoa's longest rush was for an incredible 92 yards.

Strake Jesuit was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 451 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 316 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

When it comes to explaining why Wisdom lost, don't look at Ajani Mayeux. Despite the final result, he rushed for 94 yards and one touchdown on only six carries.

The win got Strake Jesuit back to even at 2-2. As for Wisdom, they dropped their record down to 2-2 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Strake Jesuit will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on George Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Wisdom, they will take on Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. This will be the Generals' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
