Baseball Recap: Jim Thorpe Comes Up Short

Jim Thorpe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-13 heartbreaker at the hands of the Northwestern Lehigh Tigers. If the Olympians were looking for revenge after losing 12-5 to the Tigers when the teams met back in May of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Noah Pastor was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those doubles marked the first that he has hit this season. Brody Schrantz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Jim Thorpe's record is now 5-7. As for Northwestern Lehigh, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Jim Thorpe will square off against rival Southern Lehigh at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Northwestern Lehigh is set to face off against their familiar foe Lehighton at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
