Soccer Game Preview: Destiny Christian Academy vs. Rio Linda

The Destiny Christian Academy Lions will venture away from home to face off against the Rio Linda Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Last Friday, Destiny Christian Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Sutter and fell 2-1.

Destiny Christian Academy's goal came courtesy of Garrett Gatewood, who's now up to five this season.

Meanwhile, Rio Linda hasn't lost a match since January 2nd, a trend which continued in their latest game on Saturday. They beat Live Oak by a goal, winning 1-0.

Destiny Christian Academy has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9-2 record this season. As for Rio Linda, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6-4 record this season.

Destiny Christian Academy suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Rio Linda when the teams last played back in December of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Destiny Christian Academy was down 4-1.
