Softball Recap: Franklin Takes a Loss

Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Surry County Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, with their most recent loss being a 1-0 defeat on Tuesday.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 1-13-2. As for Surry County, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season.

Franklin will venture away from home to challenge Southampton at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Surry County, they have already played their next matchup, a 10-0 defeat against Windsor on the 19th.
