Soccer Recap: Juneau-Douglas Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with West Anchorage

Juneau-Douglas faced West Anchorage in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Crimson Bears came up short against the Eagles, falling 7-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Juneau-Douglas were already down 3-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Kai Ciambor, who's now up to six this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Juneau-Douglas fell to 5-1-3. As for West Anchorage, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2-1 record this season.

Juneau-Douglas has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Soldotna on the 8th. As for West Anchorage, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, an 11-1 victory against Eagle River on the 5th.
