Baseball Recap: Leon Comes Up Short

Leon has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.58 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They came up short against the Fort Meade Miners, falling 12-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Lions have suffered since March 30, 2024.

Leon saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Baker Safley, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Leon dropped their record down to 9-3 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Fort Meade, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.

Looking ahead, Leon will face off against Sebring at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Sebring 1.5, Leon 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Fort Meade, they will square off against Lake Region at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Meade is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
