Recap: Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines vs. Fillmore Central Panthers
The Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines lost against the Fillmore Central Panthers back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Wilber-Clatonia received a tough blow as they fell 39-21 to Fillmore Central. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wilber-Clatonia in their matchups with Fillmore Central: they've now lost eight in a row.
Fillmore Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Makenna Mccoy out in front who scored 13 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Mccoy grabbed two or more steals. Ali Nichols was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Wilber-Clatonia's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Fillmore Central, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-6.
Wilber-Clatonia will challenge Thayer Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Thayer Central will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Fillmore Central will be home for the holidays to greet St. Cecilia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Cecilia presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fillmore Central in Nebraska (St. Cecilia is ranked 43rd, while Fillmore Central is ranked 243rd).
