Baseball Recap: Chatfield Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Chatfield ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past the Bear Creek Bears 6-5. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Chargers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Brody Batz was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one double, and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reece Hodges, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Chatfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Chatfield's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 8-8. As for Bear Creek, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Chatfield will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bears: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
