Baseball Recap: Zanesville Takes a Loss

Zanesville lost against Lakewood back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Blue Devils have suffered against the Lancers since May 12, 2018.

Zanesville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Greyson Goines, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Zanesville now has a losing record of 4-5-1. As for Lakewood, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Zanesville is set to square off against their familiar foe Mt. Vernon at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Lakewood will take on rival Johnstown-Monroe at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
