Soccer Game Preview: Pleasant Grove vs. Lehi

The Pleasant Grove Vikings will challenge the Lehi Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Pleasant Grove is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Skyridge, who was ranked 20th at the time (Pleasant Grove was ranked fourth). The Vikings fell 4-2 to the Falcons on Wednesday. Pleasant Grove haven't had much luck with Skyridge recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Lehi ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-6 win over American Fork. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Lehi's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Lehi's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7. As for Pleasant Grove, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-2.

Everything went Pleasant Grove's way against Lehi in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Pleasant Grove made off with an 8-0 win. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pioneers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
