Football Recap: Benson Bobcats vs. Willcox Cowboys

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Benson can now relate to. They came up short against the Willcox Cowboys on Friday, falling 26-6. The Bobcats haven't had much luck with the Cowboys recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Dawson Judd threw for 171 yards and one touchdown while completing 81.2% of his passes. Jason Santo was his top target, picking up 58 receiving yards and one TD.

Kaleb Cooke continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Willcox, rushing for 219 yards and three scores while picking up 9.1 yards per carry, and also picking up 38 receiving yards. Cooke also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making seven total tackles.

Benson's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Willcox, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2.

Benson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Willcox, they will face off against Scottsdale Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Cowboys 11.8, the Eagles 11.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
