Baseball Game Preview: Edina Hornets vs. St. Michael-Albertville Knights

Edina hasn't had much luck against St. Michael-Albertville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hornets will venture away from home to take on the Knights at 4:30 p.m. Neither Edina nor St. Michael-Albertville posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

On Wednesday, Edina came up short against Minnetonka and fell 7-2.

Edina got a good showing from Wyatt Pacyna, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Edina saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bode McConnell, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, St. Michael-Albertville gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They never let Eden Prairie get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since May 15, 2024.

Ryley Wuebkers looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched.

Edina couldn't quite finish off St. Michael-Albertville when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
