Basketball Game Preview: Grace Community Cougars vs. Bishop Dunne Falcons

The Grace Community Cougars are taking a road trip to challenge the Bishop Dunne Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Grace Community knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Bishop Dunne likes a good challenge.

It was a proper cat-fight when Grace Community duked it out withHyde Park on Friday. Grace Community simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hyde Park 71-41. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Bishop Dunne's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were outmatched by Brentwood Christian and fell 77-49. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 798th, while the Bears are ranked 187th).

Grace Community has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-11 record this season. As for Bishop Dunne, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-16.

Grace Community couldn't quite finish off Bishop Dunne in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 and fell 44-41. Can Grace Community avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
