Basketball Recap: Newberry Piles Up the Points Against Swansea

There's no place like home for Newberry, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Swansea Tigers 76-45. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-16.

Swansea lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Zyshawn Jamison, who posted 20 points. That was a full 44.4% of Swansea's points, marking the 12th time in a row Jamison has scored more than a third of the team's points. Donnell Goodwin was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Newberry's win bumped their record up to 10-14. As for Swansea, they are on a 42-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-19.

Newberry didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-59 defeat against North Charleston on the 18th. As for Swansea, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 85-15 loss against Oceanside Collegiate Academy on the 18th.
