Volleyball Recap: Laynee Shay Key Part of Team Effort in Raiders Win

Frontenac won the last time they faced Cherryvale and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Raiders walked away with a 2-0 win over the Chargers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

Frontenac easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-7.

Frontenac got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Laynee Shay out in front who had five aces and four digs. Those five aces gave Shay a new career-high.

Frontenac's win bumped their record up to 12-8-1. As for Cherryvale, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-17.

The future could be bright for both Frontenac and Cherryvale: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Raiders will look to extend Southeast's three-game losing streak when they meet at 5:00 p.m. on October 2. Meanwhile, Cherryvale will try to hand Columbus their sixth-straight loss when the two meet on Saturday.
