Volleyball Recap: Washington County Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Washington County can now relate to. They came up short against the Excelsior Classical Academy Flying Lions on Saturday, falling 3-0. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured 11 losses in a row.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-2, 25-12.

Leading Excelsior Classical Academy to victory were Alejandra Orozco and Stephanie Llanas Tavera. Orozco had 23 assists, while Llanas Tavera hit 72.7% for nine kills and eight digs and four aces. Those 72.7% hitting percentage gave Llanas Tavera a new career-high.

Washington County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Excelsior Classical Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season.

Washington County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Excelsior Classical Academy, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Bear Grass Charter on the 21st.
